colouring in!!

Been working on the other drawing i produced earlier this week, cant decide on what hair to give her so I've been experimenting, but this is the finished product anyways

Another full attempt of drawing the head of a female in anime style. I think the proportions and lines are pretty good in this one, going to edit it in Adobe Illustrator to see how it looks...

Colouring in...fell like a kid again!

Attempted to colour in the scanned image I drew last night on Adobe Illustrator, this took me about 2 hours, still a lot of work to do though...

After watching Anime's for sooooo long...you'd think it would be easy to come up with your own design....not so easy as I've found out. Its tok me bout 8 weeks getting all the elements I want, and now I THINK I've come up with a pretty good design...

Surreal Front Cover Design

We was asked to design a Book cover for our class. The book is dedicated to all the students work in the class, so the front cover had to be just typographic with everybody's names. I wanted to create an image with the type as I love that kind of design. So this is my interpretation of a Yellow Pencil, hope you can all see it clearly as is it not completely finished yet. 

Final piece

I was advised to include more white spacing in my work so I used a different composition and I produced it Landscape rather than portrait :) Love the final piece to :)

The slogan is from a Bleach anime episode and the phrase just stuck in my head so I thought I'd use this :)

Development idea...

For FD 104 we had to produce an A3 size poster describing us as a person, so I was hugely influenced by Eduardo Bertone in my ideas, this is just one of them :)

Review number 3!

Decided to review "Juxtapoz" magazine because Its my fave by far! 
....Spent an hour writing the review and 1 more hour proof reading it......2 n a half hours designing the layout of it haha 
Decided to do 2 A5's rather than 1 A4 :) 

Digital Artwork!!

FINALLLLLLYYY!!! finished, Theres a lot more that needs to be done but I've been informed I can still touch bits up here and there over christmas so :D very happy with it though! :D

layout

I've been asked to involve images from my sketchbook into my file/folder. So I've been designing a layout for the images. Two pictures per sheet, I think looks quite good :) 

why now?

does the illustrator software decide to fuck up on me? URGHHHH....guess I can do the InDesign work :/

Soooooo much work to do! I dont understand how Uni students have the energy to go out drinking and clubbin every weekend because by time friday night comes I'm in my bed fast asleep! haha i must be growin old! haha

Pop Art Work

Had a brief to do based on pop art influence, so I did a tribute to Amy Winehouse theme, even though the Magazine title "Art Review" IS NOT MY WORK, the rest is so :)

Sometimes I feel like the only one who's actually enjoying uni? I KNOW I'm a weirdo at best of times, but when talking to other people they don't seem as "Happy" as I do? Probably just me? Either way I'm feeling great about Uni and looking forward to more experiences :D

Just subscribed to "Creative Review" After yesterdays presentation I figured I'd love to have a few copies of it so I subscribed to a years worth of them :) Cannot wait to get it :)

Also...

Decided to re design my dividers for my PDP folder. Not happy with how they are now, they have my old brand on and is not "me" so I'm going to re design them in Illustrator and make them tomorrow :)

...my Tutors feedback on an D&AD talk he went to thursday night, and i am more than surprised with the review. I would have loved to have gone anyway! But due to difficulty with transport and money issues, I couldn't get there, hoping my tutor would have said "It was the most uplifting talk I've ever been to" to an underwhelming "I expected more"? Really?! I still cant believe it, so sad :(

The first week off

is officially over! Was desperately needed! I feel refreshed and I'm up to speed on my work and got a lot of ideas flowing. I Love It! <3  I've designed another Brand that I'm replacing lol! I cant show it atm because its a PDF file so :/ lol it is epic tho :)

....My dad bought for me today, still cant believe he's bought it me, its hard to get used to, but it had to be done, to get me the career I most desperately want!! And I hope with this boost of help, I'll be able to get there :)

Reflective Log

This blog will be dedicated to my Graphic design course with all my work and research within it.

Is in agony lied in bed trying to get some research done...because no doubt ill get more work thrown at me tomorrow...don't get me wrong I'm loving the course...but my god my body chooses the wrong time to be temperamental and go off on one!

Hollys sewing samples :)

I came up with this design when sketching it in my sketchbook yesterday, I decided to experiment and use Stitch as a sample for my design. Its simple but the way I've stitched it, it becomes slightly more interesting. I've included the bands name in Japanese in the corner to :)

I decided to go ahead with this 1,..I still need to mess around with the layout and colour of it but this is the concept I'm going for :)

Branding

I THINK I've finally come up with a pretty decent Logo for my work. Its simple, imaginative and I actually like it! what a plus! haha yea ill post pictures up of it later....I havnt got a FINAL one yet, but the concept is there :) <3

My 6th and final designer I've decided to research for my poster brief. I love her work and how interesting and different it is...and her stuff ISNT perfect, yano straight line perfection everywhere...its flawed but in an interesting way :)

Uni...I loved the talks the guys put on today...but the uni itself...I dunno I expected more as advertisements and exhibition pieces were concerned....as it is suppose to be an art uni, there wasnt much art to look at, atleast at college theres inspiration all around you with other peoples work and stuff, but on the whole it was very interesting and I got to meet some awesome people :)

...Now, don't get me wrong, I KNOW I've chosen the right place to be..but the amount of work seems so overwhelming...Just been reading through all the paper work that I yet need to print out...and I cant help but feel overwhelming excitement....
but also a HUGE amount of worry because of all the deadlines...I think I'm just being too negative seeing as it is my first proper week in Uni, I knew it was going to be difficult...but my god I was NOT ready for this...

Liverpool Tate...

One of my favourite Rene Magritte paintings that really got me thinking was a piece entitled "The Taste of Tears", which in itself sounds interesting...

Very emotional piece to me :)

First off, I'm fucking gutted I forgot my camera :/ I was able to use my phone, but the colours are distorted and doesn't look as great as the actual piece are in real life.

Saw the original Picasso Painting of the Weeping Women, it was surreal to see this specific painting right in front of me, not a feeling like it.

Personally I had never heard of Rene Magritte before, but seen his paintings on tv, again so astonishing to witness these paintings for real.

A definite must see if you can get there! Great day :)

New project :)

I'm in the middle of designing and making my own canvas bag with a day of the dead skull design of my own sewn into it :) I will post pictures up of it soon :)

Exhibition is now up, I currently don't have any pictures yet but I will be taking some on the night :)
Fucking love my final exhibition pieces....there quite unusual and not many people will like them, but I can't exactly expect everybody to like them! I love them...that's all that matters :)
