New concept finished!

Took me 2 days to complete this A3 poster :)

Decided to go around the drawing with a black fine liner because I was sick of the pencil smudging everywhere!
Will take a better picture in the near future :) 

Up till half 12...

...Last night to get most of my Poster finished :)

Still got a few bits left to do on it :) <3 love it though one of my fave pieces :)

If you cant see most of my work on this blog its because I've accidentally deleted all the pictures from my blog posts....I will put them back on, its just having to retake all the pictures and post them back on so that might take me some time :(

New concept...

Was inspired by a quote from my favorite Studio Gibli film....So I decided to create an A3 hand-made poster on the idea :) here it is just partway through, got to add a lot more to this yet...

So...

Again been talking to my most favourite Freelance Illustrator Mr Biscuit! (I'm not ass kissing here...he really is!) and been given some awesome advice as to send my work out to a number of magazine companies to TRY and get my work published in some magazine's. 

Agreed it is a LONG shot....but I'm willing to try anything to get noticed, so I have been designing a Postcard to get printed and sent off ASAP!

Here are just a few I've been experimenting with!

So, I've been learning some more techniques on Photoshop (even though I hate Photoshop, I like to learn some variety!) and I have been reading the new Digital Arts magazine and there was a tutorial I really wanted to try, so I downloaded some textures off fudgegraphics.com and here is what I came up with! :)

Just recieved an email from an Freelance Illustrator I've been following on Twitter for quite a while, I emailed him last night for some advice about the industry, and surprisingly, he's emailed me back! 

So I open the email and an essays worth of knowledge is staring me right in the face! Sooo excited to read this email, as he is one of the most well known Illustrators out there today! 

His day starts off just like mine really, social networking, emailing people, doodling ya know the usual, but then he talks about terms and conditions and protecting yourself when it comes to freelance work. Which is vital to know if you want to become a self employed Illustrator. 

Just like to again say thanks to MR. Biscuit who has took time out to actually acknowledge my struggle and desperation when it comes to getting noticed!

Approval of my Vehicle

Went to see my tutor on Wednesday....(I miss him already....so sad I know!) He has made me grow up and learn soooo much this year, I cant thank him enough for what he's done for me. Anyways he approved my Vehicle apart from the booklet that accompanies my gift, but the quality of paper is really awful, so I spent £9.99 on proper ink jet photo paper. I also need to burn my work on a disk....looking back on my work feels really weird, but I feel like I have achieved so much this year, creative and maturity wise. 

Going to meet a Freelance Illustrator next month, shes on holiday at the moment! Can't wait, you never know, there might be a bit of work in it for me? 

Can't wait for next year's festivities...2nd Year already....So hard to believe.

Vehicle!

Handed in my Vehicle a few weeks ago, and I got my grades back last week!

Really surprised once again, I gained a B- which is awesome! I thought I was only gona get like a C but I got alot more than expected so....YAY!!

Buuuuut, I need to contact some freelance Illustrators, well I already have done, but not all of them are as friendly as Kathryn Speak who I have recently had contact with. I will figure something out! I always doooo! :)

Clockwork

Decided to do a piece about the film A Clockwork Orange as I was influenced by a t-shirt design I saw last week, so here is the drawn up version....

And here is the computerized one, still not finished of course. 

End of Year Brief,

Got my grades back from my End of Year submission this week.

A LOT better than I expected if I have to be honest. I wasn't exactly 100% happy with the finish product, but I don't think I will ever be satisfied with finals! LOL

Things could have been changed but I think this way about everything I do! 

Anyways I gained a B- for the grade and I got voted 6th place in the voting. Pretty good I reckon! Been able to bring my work back today, good job I put everything in a wallet cause its been pi**ing it down over where I live!

Logo "Pimped" out for next year....

My logo needs to change for the second year of my course....but I love my logo as it is....so I've added a bit more of a personal touch to it :), just finished ordering a batch of stickers too :D a bit pixellated but when they are printed they wont be :) I don't know how to get rid of the pixels so :/ lol

Desperately...

Needs to build herself a website ASAP, as I am sick of relying on this blog site AND it would be awesome to have my own website :) The people I follow on Twitter all have their own websites and I kinda feel left out......HELP!

End of the week

Currently sat in Adrienne's class just going over the work I've handed in and need to do some more artwork for Adrienne, but I've been doing the recent artwork in 300 Resolution....and it needs to be 72, so I need to redo almost everything I've done for Adrienne.....So I guess I should get back to work!

Caught myself....

....criticizing the kerning of the lettering in a logo that I saw in the high street the other day.....this course is doing me the world of good, nearly the first year over and I'm driving with excitement and passion for it! 

Even though the recent marks I've been receiving aren't exactly *GREAT*  it just drives me more to be better than ever!

New Purchase ;)

I ordered yet another book, because I'm a geek and love my reading :) Unbelievable how much I've improved reading wise since I started the Uni course.CANNOT WAIT TO GET IT!

Vehicle Finished!!

Made another typeface bag and painted my design in stencil form on the front in acrylic paint....never tried this technique before but it works! Really well!! :) Really happy with it :D

Been given advice to change the color range and textures to my Vehicle to a more natural, classy look, so here's a few pictures :)

This is just a sample, still need a lot of work, but its just to give me a perspective on how I will make the larger one of my vehicle.

An Illustrator, (one of my favorites!) I decided to email about his views on Traditional methods and Digital methods for my 1500 word essay I have to write. 

Emailed me back today with some surprising results! And an answer I can use for my essay as it ties in to the same personal answer I have about the subject! AWESOME!! :D

Easter

I've had one day off uni work so far...So tired and sore! But I got so much to do....I've done what was urgent so I think I will have the next few days off :)

Finally!!!

Been able to make a sturdy enough box for my Marquette for my vehicle! The only kind of card that is strong enough is from a website called papermilldirect.co.uk,  ordered alot of it for my vehicle :)

End of year....

Again! Been doing some adjustments to the poster, because to me this is the most important part of the brief, as everybody will be seeing it. So I've tried to make it more eye capturing and different, so I've put a filter over the original in Photoshop...

Last Week

of term, and I will probably be working straight through to get all the deadlines hit. Need to finish my EYS submissions, finish perfecting my Vehicle for next week!  Busy times!
